Welcome to the Mills Legal Clinic Application Portal! We are excited to welcome you into our program! This online portal is your gateway to apply to any of the nine SLS full-time clinics operating in the 2024-25 academic year.
The application portal opens to students on May 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. PST. The deadline to apply is June 17, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
The system will walk you through the steps to: (1) login and create your profile, (2) upload required documents, (3) apply to any desired clinics and quarters, and (4) rank all quarters. (If you are a returning applicant, please make sure to review and update your profile before starting your application.)
Instructors will not have access to student applications until after the system closes to students. When available to them, instructors will review all of the applications to their clinics, and rank the applicants to each clinic-quarter in order of priority to enroll. Instructors will not see student rankings. Once instructor rankings are complete, the system will automatically match each student to the clinic-quarter of the student’s highest ranking to which the student was admitted.
Notifications of the results of the match and the clinic-quarter to which you have been admitted will be sent via email in July/August 2023, in advance of the pre-registration deadline.
Reminders:
- Apply to at least SEVEN clinics in order to maximize your chances of enrollment.
- Each full-time clinic delivers 12 units; you may apply up to 27 clinical units toward your JD.
- Clinic enrollment is binding; do not apply to any clinic-quarter if you are not willing to be bound to it upon matching.
To get started, you must login using your SUNet ID in the top right corner of this screen. Once you are in the system, follow the instructions to complete the four steps necessary to apply to your selected clinics and rank your clinic quarters. You may return to the system and edit your applications as often as you wish until the deadline.
